What is Scratch?
Scratch is a graphical programming language that lets you control the actions and interactions among different media. Coding in Scratch is much easier than in traditional programming languages. To create a script, you simply snap together graphical blocks, much like LEGO bricks or puzzle pieces.
Scratch gets its name from the scratching technique that is used by music DJs who spin vinyl records back and forth with their hands to mix different bits of music together in a creative way. The Scratch platform allows for the mixing of different such as graphics, photos, music, and sounds in ways to create a limitless number of projects that can express ideas, tell stories, solve problems, create art, create mathematical and scientific models, and so much more!
